Often we meet Maasai herders on our trek to the water falls of the crater. From Olmoti the trail leads you via Bulati a typical Maasai Village towards Empakai Crater which you explore descending on a steep trek with spectacular views to the soda crater lake occupying nearly half the floor. Waterbirds and wildlife is often seen around the lake. You might see buffaloes or bushbucks, blue monkeys and many birds. It is a joy to walk around the lake shore.
